Health & Safety achievers

Published: 22 March 2021

A trio from our Health & Safety team have become Graduate Members of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), a nationally recognised accreditation.

Amanda Davies from the Machine Shops, Shaun Benton from Site Services and the Melt Shop’s Andrew Downes, completed their Level 5 City Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, enabling them to use the letters GradIOSH after their names.

All three provided written narrative statements with supporting evidence of their practical application of occupational health and safety management techniques, in order to meet the industry-recognised standards.

They are now able to progress higher in the IOSH membership structure by completing an open book assessment followed by a peer review interview. Following successful ratification they will become Chartered Members of IOSH (CMIOSH).

Sheffield Forgemasters is supporting all the Health and Safety Managers on their route to becoming Chartered, and with continual professional development.
