Family affair at Forgemasters
13 September 2012
Working at Sheffield Forgemasters has become a family affair for Rick Franckeiss.
He has been appointed as new training officer at the Brightside Lane base where his son Daviyd already works as an apprentice forge estimator.
Rick has taken up the new role within the human resources department to oversee Forgemasters’ training and development schemes.
He brings more than two decades of experience to the role and was previously a partner at the Leadership Academy in Sheffield which works with companies across the UK to help them improve their performance through training.
Rick will be responsible for all of Forgemasters’ training programmes that are in place to encourage all staff, from apprentices to senior management, to build on their skills and knowledge.
He said: “I am very excited to be taking on this new challenge at a company that my son and I, think so highly of.
“Training has always been at the centre of Forgemasters with their pioneering apprenticeship programme and schemes to make sure the workforce feel valued and perform at their best. Daviyd is an example of their success in this.
“I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and intend to ensure that all of Forgemasters training programmes continue to be well managed, cost effective and efficiently run.”
