An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the existing project team within Vulcan SFM to aid the management of offshore casting orders.

The Role

Job Title: Project Manager 

Department: Vulcan SFM        

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, 7:45am – 4pm

Contract Type: Temporary (anticipated 6 months)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join the existing project team within Vulcan SFM to aid the management of offshore casting orders.

The main responsibility of the role will be to manage offshore casting contracts from order placement through to delivery of goods, documentation and final payment.

 

Day to day activities will be to:

Coordinate and expedite project activities (such as creating project plans, placing subcontractor orders etc.) to ensure the successful completion of each contract on time

Liaise with customers and their representatives on site, as well as internal and external subcontractors regarding any element of the contract

Ensure all technical, quality and documentation requirements are being met

Any other duties commensurate with this role.

 

All these activities will be aimed at meeting the contract requirements with respect to quality, timescales and budget, and building a good working relationship with the customer.

 

The Person

Candidates will show some evidence of the following:

Significant experience of coordinating/managing contracts within a demanding engineering environment such as the offshore industry is essential

Possess an engineering background (ideally degree qualified) with a good appreciation of material properties and engineering processes is desirable

Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, subcontractors & team members is essential

An appreciation of QA, inspection, testing and documentation requirements is essential

 

The successful candidate will be provided with all the necessary support but they will need to be able to work on their own initiative and be confident in managing and taking responsibility for projects of significant financial value and commercial importance.
