Forgemasters stub it out
02 October 2006
Sheffield Forgemasters have vowed to stub it out and make their HQ a no-smoking zone a year ahead of the government deadline.
Employees at SFIL will see areas at the Brightside Lane factory, including the melting shop and forge, become smoke free from October for the first time in the company's history.
And spearheading the campaign is the company's chief executive Dr Graham Honeyman who has promised to try and kick the habit along with many of his employees.
The company has wholly embraced the smoking ban and has been working closely with Smoke Free Sheffield on the initiative together with the backing of trade unions.
It has laid on counselling sessions and quit smoking clinics for staff with the help of Stop Smoking Service lead nurse Chantil Wood.
