Forgemasters generates new company
01 August 2006
Sheffield Forgemasters have launched a new subsidiary company as the business builds on management buyout success.
Vulcan SFM taps into the diverse wealth of expertise carried by parent company Sheffield Forgemasters International Limited (SFIL), to provide specialist services ranging from design consultancy to engineering production solutions, contract management, outsourcing and acquisition.
With a combined launch team of nine, representing engineers, project managers, designers, financial advisors and contract managers, Vulcan builds on the reputation of SFIL's dedicated OSCAL offshore engineering team, to provide ingenious and adaptive engineering solutions for all industries.
Ian Gerard, Managing Director of Vulcan, said: "We operate Vulcan as an independent activity within SFIL. Our team covers an immense field of specialist knowledge and ingenuity, meaning that we can function as a one-stop-shop for industry and are able to take on the most complicated projects."
Vulcan was part financed through Objective 1 funding delivered via Business Link South Yorkshire, who assisted SFIL in applying for a £160,000 grant covering business start-up and equipment costs.
