Sheffield Forgemasters has a wealth of knowledge and experience which can be effectively deployed to support consultancy projects across a broad range of areas.
From modelling, simulation and analysis through to manufacturing process development and support on plant design and equipment specification, our team has provided services to an international client base for over 40 years.
Technology Transfer Agreements (TTA) allow Sheffield Forgemasters to share proven technologies and manufacturing skills with overseas partners.
Examples include a ten-year TTA with India’s state-owned Bharat Heavy Electrical for the manufacture of large forgings for turbines and generators up to 1,000mw rating and a further agreement with TATA Steel owned Tayo Rolls Ltd for the development of forging quality ingots, forged bar, engineering forgings and forged steel rolls.

Powerful simulation and modelling tools along with extensive experience enabled us to replicate historic Reactor Pressure Vessel components. Thorough investigation and testing of the replica components enabled Axpo’s Benzau 1 PWR reactor to return to service after three years of evaluation.

Our manufacturing strength is frequently deployed to benefit customers when optimising casting and forging profiles. This can benefit heat treatment and machining operations for well-defined components, enabling optimisation of design and through-manufacture costs.
