Armistice remembrance service takes place

Employees at Sheffield Forgemasters gathered to remember the fallen at the company’s annual Remembrance tribute.

It was delivered by chaplain Ruth Crowley at the entrance to Gate One on Brightside Lane.

Poppy wreathes were laid by Steel Propeller's Andy Sylvester, the Foundry's operations director John Sanderson and Rolls' shift manager Ian Willis by the name plaques of steelworkers who lost their lives fighting for their country.

Chief Executive Graham Honeyman said: “We always see a large staff turn out for the annual Remembrance service. It was a moving ceremony which paid homage to those who have fought for our country’s freedom – both in conflicts of the past and in the wars of today.”
