Grand Depart – finish straight grandstand seats available!

Published: 7 July 2014

Sheffield Forgemasters has released 200 grandstand seats beside the finish straight of the Tour De France as it powers its way to Sheffield’s Arena Square.

Located at Carbrook Hall Hotel car park – the grandstand is situated beside the final stretch of stage two of the Grand Depart, giving up-close action views of the world’s most famous cycle race as it concludes the gruelling York to Sheffield leg along Attercliffe Common.

The seats are available for a minimum charitable donation of £25 each, with all proceeds going towards the Master Cutler’s Challenge, which this year is supporting the Whirlow Hall Farm Trust and Sheffield Hospitals charities.

Barry Rice, senior sales manager at Sheffield Forgemasters, said: “The seats are available on a strictly first come, first served basis and I urge anyone wanting to purchase a grandstand seat to contact me directly to ensure they can get a ticket.

“We can seat approximately 200 people and all proceeds will go towards two great local charities and what finer way to watch the finish-straight sprint of the race than from a grandstand seat.”

The final leg is expected to be very heavily attended, with some of the city’s largest spectator numbers anticipated for any event hosted prior to the Grand Depart.

Sales of the tickets will go towards Sheffield Forgemasters’ fundraising aims for the Master Cutler’s Challenge 2014 – which sees businesses using £100 to kick-start a fundraising campaign.
