Apprenticeships awards success

We are proud to have won the Made in Sheffield Manufacturing Apprenticeship/Training programme Award at last night’s glittering ceremony, held at the Cutlers’ Hall.

Sheffield Forgemasters has not been immune to the economic challenges since March 2020, but our commitment to apprentices has continued unabated, with recruitment for a further 13 apprentices for 2021 currently underway.

95 per cent of our apprentices have completed their training to plan and there is a strong commitment by the company to all apprentices, to support continued, higher education up to whatever level they can achieve, including post graduate PhD research.

The awards judges praised Sheffield Forgemasters for having apprentices representing ten per cent of the workforce, which is a significant investment.

We would like to thank our learning and development manager, Rick Franckeiss, and all employees who are involved in training and mentoring our apprentices for their unwavering dedication to the programme.

And of course we would like to say a big thanks our apprentices, who are the lifeblood and future of the company.

Pictured with the award is Harriett Eccles - a former apprentice, studying for Level 5 HR, who attended last night’s event.
