Purchasing manager appointed at Forgemasters

Sheffield Forgemasters has appointed a new purchasing manager.
Julian Rothwell, aged 41, from Worksop, will be responsible for goods and services within the company's Engineering subsidiary and will have a shared responsibility for commodities and central supplies.
Julian joins the company following a five-year tenure at Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery and previous to that a similar term at Ericsson Mobile Communications.
Julian said: "My role at Forgemasters has allowed me a degree of autonomy that I hadn't been afforded in my previous employment. It's great to be involved in the hands-on side of process and policy management and direct negotiation of contracts.
"Based on the levels of investment, the company's diverse range of services and the locality, it was a very exciting proposition to have the chance to work at Forgemasters.
"Now I've settled in, I will be looking at ways to add value and reduce costs across the business whilst actively promoting the contribution of purchasing within the Forgemasters supply chain."
