Increased demand for jobs at Sheffield Forgemasters International Limited (SFIL) has led the 200-year-old company to adopt a high-tech approach for future vacancies.
SFIL
receives on average 200 applications for every job it advertises, and has now
introduced a dedicated careers section on its company website, which they hope
will ease the process for candidates applying.
Forgemasters
launched its new state-of-the-art website last year to display the company's
world-leading engineering capabilities, its global network of offices,
information regarding its newest subsidiary company - design and project
management experts Vulcan SFM - and all the latest company news.
The new careers section
includes a general vacancies page and an apprenticeship page, which will offer
further opportunities to join SFIL's award-winning apprenticeship scheme.
SFIL chief executive Dr Graham Honeyman said: "The website is now the first port of call for most people seeking out information and vacancies at a company.
"The new online careers section makes applying for jobs at Forgemasters a far easier process, and at the same time provides a much more environmentally friendly option.
"We receive a huge number of CVs every year and our apprenticeship scheme is extremely popular and this process will streamline our service making it easier to target the best and most talented applicants.
SFIL currently employs 761 staff including 61 apprentices at its Brightside Lane base.
