Mills and presses

The engineering division is able to produce some of the world's largest castings - up to 350 tonnes finished weight. The foundry has the capacity to produce multiple ladles of liquid steel and open them simultaneously to enable a massive liquid pour into the mould.

The company produces a range of components, typically including - housings for steel rolling mills, press frames and edger housings for steel processing plants.

Amongst Sheffield Forgemasters' achievements are the largest steel casting ever made in Europe for the 325 tonne traverse of the Bohler press in Austria and the most expensive single steel casting in the company's history for the SMS Meer Foundation Platen.

It also produces a variety of forged products for mills and presses ranging from long tie rods and drive spindles to fully machined cylinders for extrusion presses.
